Test Indications: This test is useful for evaluating patients with possible peroxisomal disorders.
An aid in the assesment of peroxisomal function. Reports include concentration of C26 and calculated C24/C22 and C26/C22 ratios. Method: Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) by London Health Sciences Centre, Ontario (ICL). For questions/information: Call metabolic lab at 204-787-4530 and ask for the biochemical geneticist. Patient Preparation Instructions: Overnight fasting recommended (12-14 hours) or as possible (pediatric). Patient must not consume any alcohol for 24 hours before the sample is drawn. |

Pediatric Plasma: 2.0 mL
Send immediately to the Metabolic Lab. |
