Clinical Information: |
Patients with Tyr 1 who are treated with diet and/or NTBC should have declining or normal values of blood spot succinylacetone. Normal levels may be seen in affected individuals undergoing treatment.

1 Blood spot card (Mayo supply T493)

Specimen Required: | Blood Spot Card (5 spots). Minimum 1 spot. Let blood dry on the filter paper at room temperature in a horizontal position for 3 hours. Do not expose specimen to heat or direct sunlight. Do not stack wet specimens. Keep specimen dry. |
