Specimen Required: PARAFFIN EMBEDDED TISSUE CORES (TUMOR & NORMAL)
Requires 2 paraffin embedded tissue cores from tumor tissue (with > 70% neoplastic cellular content) and 2 paraffin embedded tissue cores from normal tissue.  Specimen must be kept at room temperature.
Referral:

Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded tumor tissue, 2 cores AND Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded normal tissue, 2 cores .  Ship at room temperature to MS551, Clinical Chemistry Lab HSC.

An interpretive report will be forwarded to the ordering Pathologist.
Availability:
Within 4 Weeks
This test is typically limited to designated pathologists. Turnaround time will be estimated at 4 weeks from receipt of tissue cores. Expedited turnaround times available on request.

Core samples from both normal and tumor tissue prepared at HSC Pathology will be registered and sent to MS551, HSC Clinical Chemistry Lab.  Core samples from both normal and tumor tissue prepared by Pathology at St. Boniface Hospital or at Grace Hospital will be registered in the LIS and transported using the LIS Test Referral Process to MS551, HSC Clinical Chemistry Lab.
