This test is not to be used for general screening for Vitamin C deficiency. It should only be requested on patients at risk of being Vitamin C deficient.
No gel collection is strongly recommended (even though it is not currently specified with the In-Common Laboratories website). Fasting (12-14 h) recommended, but non-fasting is acceptable. |

Separate and freeze immediately. Protect from light-wrap vial with foil. Specimen must be labeled inside and outside of light-protecting wrap. If specimen thaws, it is unsuitable for analysis. Store and send frozen to In-Common Laboratories.
