Test is required for Bone Marrow Transplants.
Advance notice is required. Specimens must be sent on dry ice same day as collected.
Collection Devices:
Busulfan rapidly degrades at room temperature.  Keep samples on ice prior to and during transport to HSC Clinical Chemistry Lab MS551.
Specimen Required:


Plasma: 1.0 mL
Pediatric Plasma: 0.5 mL

1 tube per timepoint for a total of 7 timepoints post start of infusion as per IV Busulfex Pharmacokinetics Requisition.

Results will be reported within 2 days after samples have arrived in Seattle.

Specimen is to arrive on ice.  Centrifuge at 4°C.  Remove and freeze plasma in a plastic tube labeled with patient name, medical record #, date and time of draw.  Tape labels on and freeze.  Sample must be sent on dry ice, priority overnight, same day collected.  Notify Pharmacokinetics Laboratory (receiving laboratory) by phone at (206) 288-7389 or email PKLab @seattlecca.org including shipment tracking number.
