Contact HSC NEUROPATHOLOGY LAB 1-(204) 787-4615 before doing this procedure.  (Weekdays:  0800-1430 hrs only).

 

Do not stretch, bend or compress the nerve specimen.
Transport specimen in fresh state wrapped in saline moistened gauze with an ice pack. Specimen must be kept cool.
Nerve specimen must never be frozen.
A detailed patient history, including drug & family history, must accompany all specimens.

All specimens must be properly labeled with appropriate patient identification.   Pertinent information including patient demographics, clinical history, nerve conduction studies if available, physician’s name and specimen type is required as per DS Specimen Acceptance Policy 10-50-03.
