Description: This test is used as a biochemical marker of bone resorption. It is useful to monitor antiresorptive therapies (bisphosphonates & hormone replacement therapy) in patients wih osteoporosis or other bone diseases.

Patient preparation instructions: A fasting specimen is recommended. It should be collected in the morning due to circadian rhythm.

Pediatric Plasma: 1.0 mL

Collection Information: Separate plasma from cells and aliquot within 2 hours of collection. Store and send frozen.
