First morning urine is preferred although fresh random urine may be used. Homogentisic Acid is not stable in urine. Collect fresh urine and add (1 g of Ascorbic Acid per 100 mL of urine) without delay. Ship immediately refrigerated. Send to HSC Clinical Chemistry - MS5.
