Clinical Information:
Clinical Hematology consult required prior to collection or initiate hemostasis (Hematopathologist) consult F140-80-48A. 


This profile includes: Coagulation assessment (PT, INR, PTT & Fibrinogen), Factor Assays, Soluble Fibrin Monomers, D-Dimer and other studies if needed/requested (Lupus Anticoagulant, Thrombin Time).  

Collection Devices:
Specimen Required:
Plasma: 4.0 mL
Pediatric Plasma: 2.0 mL

NaCitrate Tubes: Centrifuge according to lab's current process for coagulation sample.  Remove plasma with transfer pipette. Do not disturb buffy coat. Place in plastic tube and re-centrifuge, capped.  Remove plasma again leaving small portion and aliquot into four (4) plastic tubes, cap and indicate "spun x 2" on labels.  Freeze immediately at -20°C.  Transport frozen on ice. Testing stable 4 hrs at room temperature. 


WHRA: Consult Hemostasis/Hematology at HSC regarding urgent transport.
