HYPERCOAGULABLE DISORDER INVESTIGATION

Clinical Information:
Clinical Hematology consult required prior to collection.  Test performed at HSC Haemostatis Laboratory (Hematopathology) 
This hypercoagulation panel includes: coagulation assessment, lupus inhibitor, thrombin time, anti-thrombin, plasminogen, protein C activity, activiated protein C and free protein S.

Specimen Required:
Plasma: 8.0 mL
Pediatric Plasma: 4.0 mL

NaCitrte Tubes:  Centrifuge according to lab's current process for coagulation sample.  Remove plasma with transfer pipette.  Place in plastic tube and re-centrifuge, capped.  Aliquot into four (4) plastic tubes, cap, and indicate "spun x 2" on labels.  Freeze immediately at -20°C.  Transport frozen on ice.

Test performed Monday - Friday 0745 - 1600, however, referred-in samples in NaCitrate tubes may be sent frozen to the HSC lab at any time, attention:  Haemostasis Bench.
