Laboratory: Clinical Immunology
Test Name:
LEUKOCYTE ADHESION DEFICIENCY - (B)
Test Code: LAD
Clinical Information:
CD18, CD15s, CD11a, CD11b, CD11c expression on neutrophils by flow cytometry.
Aids in the diagnosis of Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency syndrome, type 1 and II, primarily patients < 18 years of age.  This flow cytometry assay is intended as a screening test.  Screening tests are not 100% sensitive nor specific, and a normal result should not preclude functional assays or molecular sequencing if a patient's clinical presentation suggests that the probability of a diagnosis is high.
