Clinical Hematologist consult required prior to collection.

Test performed at: HSC Haemostasis Laboratory (Hematopathology).
The Chromogenic Factor IX assay is used only for monitoring of extended half life Factor IX products in patients with Factor IX products in patients with Factor IX deficiency.

1 - Na Citrate 1.8mL Tube(s) - Full Tube Collection  - Minimum 1 x 1.8 mL, but preference is 3 x 1.8 mL
Specimen Required:
Plasma: 1.5 mL
Pediatric Plasma: 0.75 mL

If approved, spin sample once.  Aliquot sample into another tube.  Spin sample again and aliquot the sample into another tube.  Freeze sample at -20°C; then ship to HSC.  If sample is urgent, send sample immediately without spinning down.
