Clinical Information:
Test Indications: This is a second level test used for the evaluation of patients with chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) results that are inconsistent with the clinical picture. This usually presents as chronic persistent low concentrations of HCG when there is no plausable clinical explaination and false results are suspected.
Specimens are sent to Hamilton Regional Laboratory for testing using the Siemens Immulite immunometric assay.
This test is available to Obstetricians & Gynecologists, Oncologists and Endocrinologists, and requires prior approval by a Clinical Biochemist.
