Clinical Hematologist consult required prior to collection.
Test performed at: HSC Haemostasis Laboratory (Hematopathology)
The Chromogenic Factor VIII assay is used only for monitoring FVIII levels in patients receiving emicizumab for FVIII deficiency in patients with Factor VIII deficiency.

2 - Na Citrate 1.8mL Tube(s) - Full Tube Collection
Alternate Device:
1 - Na Citrate 1.8mL Tube(s) - Full Tube Collection  - Minimum 1 x 1.8 mL, but preference is 2 x 1.8 mL
Specimen Required:
Plasma: 1.5 mL
Pediatric Plasma: 0.75 mL

If approved, sping sample once.  Aliquot sample into another tube.  Spin sample again and aliquot the sample into another tube.  Freeze sample at -20°C, then ship to HSC.  If sample is urgent, send sample immediately without spinning down.

Samples are to be forwarded to the Hemostasis Lab regardless of sample volume or number of tubes for discussions with the phsician and the lab director.
