Testing is performed at St. Boniface Hospital Immunology Lab using an indirect Immunofluorescence assay (IFA). Serum samples are initially screened at a 1:10 dilution utilizing slides coated with transfected cells. A titre increase, decrease or disappearance precedes a change in the clinical status. Thus, the quantitative determination has a high predictive value with respect to clinical remission or relapse and risk estimation after kidney transplantation. The success of therapy can be assessed by means of of the anti-PLA2R titre. |
