Sample Requirements: Sample to be kept at room temperature (18-22°C). Sample should be shipped immediately to Hematology Laboratory at room temperature. Sample Stability: 12 hours post collection. |

If requesting RBC counts for subarachnoid hemorrhage investigation, collect an extra tube and submit Tube 1 and Tube 4 of total CSF collection clearly labelled for this purpose. Subarachnoid Hemorrhage must be documented on requisition.
Third tube in collection is preferred for standard testing. Deliver immediately to Laboratory. |
