Recipients and potential donors (Living or Deceased) for solid organ transplant (kidney, lung, heart, pancreas, kidney/pancreas, other) purposes .

 

HLA Typing and the subsequent matching with a potential donor is one of the tests that is used to determine recipient donor compatibility.  Recipients must be determined to be a candidate for evaluation by the applicable transplant program.  Requests for HLA Typing on recipients or potential donors must be ordered by the applicable transplant program.

 

HLA Typing on a Living Donor includes a Virtual Crossmatch with their intended recipient.
