Test Name:
HLA CROSSMATCH - (B)

Clinical Information:
Recipient and Donor pairs for kidney transplant purposes only.

HLA Crossmatching is performed to assess compatibility of a donor/recipient pair and the alloimmune risk of the recipient.

Virtual Crossmatch – samples are not required.  A virtual crossmatch should be ordered with HLA Typing of a Living Donor and applicable samples for HLA Typing are drawn.

Preliminary crossmatch should be performed on the most suitable living kidney donor within one year of the anticipated transplant date.  Samples are required from both the donor and the recipient.

Final crossmatch should be performed within one week of the transplant date (up to 3 weeks for KPD transplants).  Samples are required from both the donor and the recipient.
