Clinical Information:	Collect samples Monday-Wednesday only (please see lab notes). Assay only performed. Blood transfusions within the last 3 months invalidate test results. Must be ordered by Hematologist or approved by Hematopathologist on RBC Investigation Service.
Collection Devices:	Preferred Device: 1 - EDTA 4 mL NO GEL Tube(s) - Full Tube Collection EDTA 4 mL NO GEL Tube(s) - Full Tube Collection Manufacturer: Becton Dickinson & Company Catalogue #: 367861 - Must be delivered to Central Services, MS551, Heath Sciences Centre, immediately after collection.
Specimen Required:	Blood: 3.0 mL Grossly hemolyzed samples will be rejected.
Referral:	Whole Blood: 3.0 mL

More Information:	Store and send at 4 degrees C. Do not freeze. Sample referred to Mayo (unit code: 8659, ordering mnemonic: PK) for processing and analysis. Must be performed within 5 days of collection; therefore sample should be collected and received in the HSC Lab Monday to Wednesday only.
