Clinical Information:
Test performed at St. Boniface Hospital Immunology Lab using the indirect immunofluorescent antibody (IFA) technique.
Adrenal antibody is performed using a 1:5 screening dilution on monkey adrenal tissue using IgG anti human antibodies.
Aids in the diagnosis of Addison's disease, ovarian failure, and autoimmune polyglandular disease.

Blood: 5.0 mL

Serum: 1.0 mL
Serum: 1.0 mL

Separate serum.  Store and ship serum aliquot refrigerated.  Do NOT freeze.
Reference Values:
Negative @ 1:5 screening dilution
Once Per Week
Lab operation: Mon-Fri, 0800-1615. TAT within 7 days.

Since mitochondrial antibodies may be confused with anti-adrenal antibodies, all positive ADA specimens will be tested for AMA.
