Clinical Information: |
Description: TRAb is an autoantibody to the thyroid cell receptor for TSH and observed in 90% patients with Graves’ disease.
TRAb measurements may be useful in following: · Diagnosis of clinically suspected Graves’ disease · Assessment of the neonatal thyrotoxicosis risk in a fetus of female with Graves’ disease (active or treated) · Diagnosis of gestational thyrotoxicosis / recurrent Graves’ disease / normal first trimester of pregnancy · Graves’ disease relapse in treated patient · Differential diagnosis of thyrotoxicosis in patients with unclear biochemical findings or pregnancy.
Patient preparation instructions: Avoid high biotin doses (i.e. > 300 mg/day) for three days prior to specimen collection.
