Clinical Information:
Test performed by  St. Boniface Hospital Immunology lab using a multiplex method.  Anti Jo-1 antibodies are found in patients with polymyositis and most commonly in patients with interstitial lung disease. The test is positive in < 50% of patients with interstitial pulmonary fibrosis and symmetrical polyarthritis.

Separate serum.  Store and ship serum aliquot refrigerated.  Do NOT freeze.

Negative = 0 - 0.9 AI
A negative result does not necessarily exclude autoimmune disorder.  Positive results should not be interpreted in isolation and must be correlated with relevant clinical findings.
