Clinical Information:

Test performed at St. Boniface Hospital Immunology Lab using a multiplex method.  Scl-70 antibodies are found in up to 60% of patients with scleroderma (systemic sclerosis) and considered specific for the disease.

A negative result does not necessarily exclude autoimmmune disease.  Positive results should not be interpreted in isolation and must be correlated with relevant clinical findings.
