Test Indications: This test is indicated to monitor L-asparaginase activity in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) receiving PEG-Asparaginase.
Recommendations: This test is only ordable by Peadiatric Oncologists. All requests require Biochemist approval. Use form F260-11-02 Biochemistry Approval for Test Referral to request approval. |

Centrifuge the blood sample at 1100-1300 x g for 10 minutes at 25º C. Vial labels must include
the name of the patient, date and time the specimen was collected, type of sample (serum or plasma) and the form of L-asparaginase received by the patient (EColi, Erwinia or PEG) .Immediately place the cryotube in a freezer maintained at -70 ºC or lower until packaged for shipment. Samples stored at room temperature for longer than 2 hours are not suitable for testing and will be rejected.
