Clinical Information:
Testing is performed at St. Boniface Hospital Immunology Lab using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
 
The ELISA test kit provides a semiquantitative or quantitative in vitro assay for human autoantibodies of the IgG class against cyclic citrullinated peptides (CCP) in serum to support the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis.

A negative result does not necessarily exclude autoimmune disease.  Positive results should not be interpreted in isolation and must be correlated with relevant clinical findings.
