Specimen Handling: In patient samples where the PO2 is > 100 mmHg above the normal range (80-105 mmHg) an increase in PCO2 of approximately 1.5 mmHg (with a range of 0.9 to 2.0 mmHg) may be observed for every 100 mmHg increase in PO2.
