This procedure is used to distinguish between primary, secondary and tertiary hypothyroidism. It may also be used to assess recovery from hypothyroidism and to distinguish thyroid hormone resistance from TSH-secreting tumors. This procedure is performed in the Endocrinology & Metabolism Clinical Investigation Unit.
